Boron has a relatively low concentration in natural seawater but involves multiple aspects of the conduction of our reef aquariums. Typical values in nature are 4 - 5 mg/l whilst in tank we can reach up to 6 mg/l. The addition of Boron increases red and pink colours of corals, this characteristic is well represented on the tissues of Acropora Hyacinthus and Spathulata. However Boron has great effects in a huge variety of corals, moreover it influences pH, by stabilizing it in the 8 - 8.3 range.

There is evidence that it is involved in calcium metabolism of higher organisms. It is also thought some algae and sponges accumulate it in their tissue.

Boron is significantly depleted in aquaria. Therefore, the Boron concentration should be regularly reviewed in the laboratory. The targeted addition if required is best with our high purity Boron Supplement.

10 ml of the supplement increases the boron concentration in 100 litres by 0.5 mg/l
